1. INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Most cleaners contain ingredients that are volatile ........ that is, they evaporate easily into the air.  These "volatile organic compounds" (VOC's) contribute to indoor air pollution.  Indoor air pollution can make some people sick.  Most cleaners also add special perfumes to mask the odors of other ingredients and to make consumers think that the cleaner is really powerful.  People who are sensitive to perfumes can get sick from using perfumed cleaning products.

3. ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY

Many conventional cleaners can alter the reproductive systems of aquatic life (endocrine disruption) and some can form even more toxic compounds as they biodegrade in the natural waterways (such compounds are called "recalcitrant metabolites").  Many modern cleaners are not readily biodegradable in the absence of oxygen ("anaerobic"0, such as in the sludge at the bottom of a river.

ECOgent's has been tested and proven to be non-hazardous to aquatic life at levels likely to enter the environment.  If any ECOgent does survive municipal treatment systems, its food-based formula biodegrades rapidly in either oxygenated ("aerobic") or non-oxygenated ("anaerobic") conditions in the natural environment.  And when it breaks down it does not generate toxic compounds (no "recalcitrant metabolites").

4. SURFACE COMPATIBLE

Many conventional cleaners are incompatible with certain modern environmental surfaces such as computer housings and bathtub acrylics.

ECOgent has proven to be suitable for use on polystyrene, polycarbonate and Plexiglas.  Recommended for acrylic and polystyrene shower stalls, bathtubs, and whirlpools, ECOgent can be used safely on environmental surfaces not damaged by water.
